Robert Banner

Robert has devoted his entire legal career to serving the people in Northern Michigan. His general law practice of nearly three decades has provided him with invaluable experience in the court system litigating cases. Robert is a trial lawyer with extensive jury and bench trial experience. He has had the opportunity to handle and represent clients in hundreds of legal appearances in all levels of the court system: district, circuit and probate. He has successfully defended appeals from the circuit and probate courts before the Michigan Court of Appeals. We believe experience matters!

Throughout his numerous appearances in court Robert has gained the respect of judges, colleagues, court staff and law enforcement. His character, temperament, respect for others and ability to make decisions during court cases are vital to a judicial position. Robert demonstrates the ability to successfully manage a business, understand and recognize the needs of others and utilize this knowledge in his decision making. He is confident that his dedication and experience will allow him to handle the extensive and diverse district court caseload. Our counties need a judge with experience, integrity, and the right temperament to make fair and consistent decisions. 

Robert clearly understands the role and requirements to successfully uphold the position of District Court Judge. He is committed to ensuring fair representation, the pursuit of justice and improving our community. He is confident that his vast array of experience makes him uniquely and highly qualified to serve as our 90th District Court Judge. Robert has been blessed to serve the people of Northern Michigan for 29 years. He is asking the citizens of Charlevoix and Emmet counties to provide him with the opportunity to expand his service by voting for him as 90th District Court Judge.

Education: Graduated from Michigan State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of

Science; Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School 1991
